Chip Shop Awards Ad of the Week – ‘Never Hide’

A spoof Ray Ban poster featuring Colonel Gadaffi has been voted The Chip Shop Awards Ad of the Week.

In the run-up to the entry deadline on 16 March, the Chip Shop Awards website is carrying out a weekly public vote to recognise some of the best ads entered so far.

This week's winner, entered into the 'Best Remake of an Existing Advert' category, is a brave update of Ray Ban's 'Never Hide' campaign. It was created by Ben Askew at Freestyle Interactive.

The Chip Shops is not just about controversy, however, as you can see from the two ads that pushed Askew's entry close in the voting this week - Vital's clever Star Wars poster and Lawton Bailey's idealised McDonald's campaign.

Voting is now open for next Friday's Ad of the Week so pick your favourite now.

Categories include Best Use of Bad Taste, Best Work for Any Brand You Haven't a Hope of Winning and Invent Your Own Category.

If you want to be included - and to stand a chance of winning a Chip Shop Award for real - get your entries in by 16 March.

The Duchess of Cambridge has turned heads in several of her designs.

The most memorable being a £3,800 shimmering gown worn to the ARK charity gala last year.

But for many, Jenny Packham's pricey eponymous label - which starts at £85 for a Swarovski embellished thong - has remained a little off budget.

However the designer, whose flagship store is situated in London's Mayfair, is set to launch a cut-price collection.

Having established a star-studded following, the 46-year-old has created an affordable high street line in collaboration with Debenhams.

It is expected that the range will feature bright colours, light fabrics, whimsical detailing and feminine cuts.

Packham will join the likes of Julien Macdonald, Roksanda Ilincic, Jonathan Saunders and
Matthew Williamson who have also created capsule collections for the UK retailer.

With the luxury brand boasting an elite fan base, Jenny Packham's purse-friendly pieces are sure to be a hit with price-conscious shoppers.

Stars such as Rihanna, Keira Knightley, Beyonce and Cameron Diaz have been spotted in gowns from Jenny Packham and last year the Duchess of Cambridge opted the designer on three separate occasions.

As well as the ARK gala, the 30-year-old was seen in two dresses on the Royal tour to Canada and the U.S.

She chose a yellow sundress for her arrival in Calgary in, and a hand-painted floral frock to attend the polo in Santa Barbara, California, two days later.

A Jenny Packham jewellery range will also debut at Debenhams.

Jenny Packham launched her first collection at the London Designer Show in 1988, the label now has stores in London and Paris, and is stocked globally.

I find all these articles on Kate (and the rest of the Royals, Andrew in particular!!) really offensive. How on earth can anyone justify spending over three thousand pounds on ONE DRESS in this day and age when people are desperately trying to pay their mortgages and heating bills. I am thoroughly disgusted to read articles about how many hundreds of pounds is spent on Kate's hair, her clothes, her shoes, costing over one hundred pounds for ONE PAIR!!! No doubt the tax payer is picking up most of the bills! William was left millions when Princess Diana died and Kate's parents are millionaires but the British Tax Payer picks up the bills for the Kensington Palace renovations and repairs, the clothes, the staff etc.......

Oooh I love Jenny Packham... I'm saving up for one of her wedding dresses. Can't wait... Love to see what this collection will look like.

I have saved very hard for my Jenny Packham wedding dress!!! I can't wait to wear it. Her designs are stunning!!

debenhams... got rejected by house of frazer then rofl

Jenny Packham dresses are all instant classics. I love how feminine they are and as another commenter said, what timeless beauties they are. They're the sort of dress any woman would love to wear. I'm so happy to see this designer getting well-deserved recognition.

They are gorgeous dresses. Take note ladettes it is not necessary to bare all to look gorgeous.

Yay- i love the Duchess of Cambridege's style- she always looks so lovely inthese clothes and am very pleased that they will be available for the rest of us as these pieces are simply timeless.

Who in their right mind would want a crystal embellished thong? Ouch!

This is my favourite news story of the day! Packham's designs are timeless beauties - MUCH needed in the UK market!

yaaaay!
